The HTC One X is the new flagship Android smartphone from HTC. It has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor running Android OS 4.0 (and now Sense 4.1), a big 4.7-inch screen of 1,280 x 720 pixels.
We've got our hands on an HTC One X and found it severs as a good media player - Media on the HTC One X is a great experience. We've moaned about certain aspects of the music and video player before, and while they've not all been addressed, we're still happy that they've at least been evolved. We'll get a big problem out of the way first though: there's no expandable memory card slot on offer here, with HTC ramming in 32GB of storage to compensate. This will probably be enough for most people, but there are those that really love to pack their devices with media, and hate the thought of having to pick and choose because of storage limitations. While there's a wide range of format for playback on offer:
HTC One X video formats/file types

Supported Video formats

“HTC One X does not play MKV, AVI, WMV, MP4 videos…”
When HTC One X refuses to play a video, it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- Unsupported video format (e.g. *.vob format)
- Unsupported codec (e.g. AC3 surround audio)
- Huge file size (e.g. H.264 MP4 video over 4GB)
- High resolution (e.g. 1920x1080 full HD)
- Protections (e.g. iTunes videos, DVD, Blu-ray media)
