A: The Apple ProRes 422 (LT) (*mov) is recommended here. You can click on "Format" to choose "Final Cut Pro" to get the format as the output one.

Q5: I have Avid Media Composer but the version 5.0 and want to import AVCHD footage to Avid for edting. But I don't know how?
A: Okay. It is easy. Just transcode your MTS/M2TS files to Avid DNxHD (*.mov) format for easier editing in Avid due to its reduced storage and bandwidth requirements with mastering quality HD media. Click on "Format" and choose "QuickTime Movie Format < Avid DNxHD (*.mov)" to find the file.

Q6: I exported my MTS file to Apple ProRes 422 with your program. But there is no video but audio when playing.
A: Wow. This is a common issue. Actually encoding into ProRes is limited to the Mac OS having certain software(s) installed.
This includes one of the following:
*Final Cut Pro
*Final Cut Server
*Logic Pro
*Compressor
These applications install the proper ProRes component, which is need for ProRes encoding. So, you can't transcode video to ProRes without installing one of the four apps.

Q7: I have AVCHD footage on my iMac G5 non-Intel. Is it possible to edit them in Final Cut Express? If not, how to realize it by using your program.
A: The FCE supports real-time editing in AVCHD format for Intel processors only. So you need to convert the MTS/M2TS files to another friendly format for FCE. You can use Foxreal MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac to convert the raw AVCHD video to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) (*.mov) format recommended for use in Final Cut Express.

A: Actually the software supports deinterlacing by default. So, you don't need to anything.

Q11: How to remove picture noises from my HD recordings?
A: Go to the Video Editor panel. Click on "Effect" and then choose the special effect "Simple Gauss Blur" from the "Effect" drop-down list. Click "OK", the picture noises will be removed easily.

Q14: Why is the output file so big and why does it take so much time for the conversion?
A: Actually it has something to do with several factors: source file types, the output profile settings and the computer environment, etc. Generally the higher bitrate and frame rate, the higher quality but the larger file size and the longer it will take. Also the faster the processor, the faster the conversion speed.

Q15: How to cut off black bars or edges from my videos?
A: Click the Edit icon to open the Editor panel. Just choose the Crop tab and drag the green frame on the video screen of the original window to cut off those unwanted parts to make it.
Check Keep Original Aspect Ratio for the edited video if you need.
